Life-long Rhode Islander
Katherine Kazarian is a life-long resident of East Providence. She attended the Thompson Kindergarten Center, Myron J. Francis Elementary School, and St. Mary Academy-Bay View. While growing up in East Providence, Katherine volunteered as an AYSO coach and as a Sunday School assistant teacher. She was also a dedicated athlete and student.
Katherine graduated from Columbia University, where she majored in Urban Studies and Economics. While in college, Katherine was a member of Columbia University’s Peace by P.E.A.C.E. volunteer organization. As a member, she traveled to homeless shelters and public schools in Harlem to teach conflict resolution skills and conduct community workshops.
Katherine was elected as a member of the House of Representatives for District 63 in September 2012.
